Elisa Christopher Wines is a family run winery by husband and wife team, Elisa and Chris Jones. Chris and Elisa purchased their 43 acre property in 2022 and hit the ground running on building a production facility and tiny house tasting room. While Chris and Elisa love still red, and white wine, Chris and Elisa are passionate about making traditional method sparkling wine in Texas. They’ve invested in champagne equipment from France and for neck freezing, riddling and disgorging and are excited to be pioneers of mechanization to sparkling wine in Texas. They believe we need more sparkling wine as every day has an element in it to celebrate. Elisa's family has historic Texas roots having come to Texas in 1855 as farmers, she helped her father plant his vineyard in Burleson Country in 2007. Although Elisa is a 3rd generation Aggie, she attended Texas Tech's winemaking certificate program while she was still working for the Department of Defense, so that she could move back to Texas after years of travel to make wine. She convinced her husband Chris to complete his winemaking certificate from Texas Tech during COVID so he could assist her as a “cellar rat.” As Chris has a full time career as a land planner, his skills were vital in laying out the winery property for future expansion. If you would have asked him 15 years ago if he would be making wine, he would have said he would have a greater chance of being an astronaut than helping make wine!

“Growing Benchmark Fruit Wine Enthusiasts Seek & Wineries Designate with Pride.” Farmhouse Vineyards Marketplace in Johnson City, Texas, is our signature tasting room and retail outpost—bringing the spirit of the Texas High Plains to the heart of Hill Country wine country. Housed in a restored 1900s mercantile building, the Marketplace offers a curated experience of our small-lot wines, local goods, and true Farmhouse hospitality. Whether you’re exploring the 290 Wine Trail or looking for a bottle that tells a story of both place and people, Marketplace is where our guests sip, shop, and stay awhile. While the Marketplace is where many first meet us, the heart of Farmhouse Vineyards lies in Brownfield, Texas, where our estate vineyard sites are rooted in the Texas High Plains AVA. Owned and operated by the Seaton and Furgeson families—two pairs of brothers and sisters-in-law—we represent eight generations of West Texas farmers currently cultivating over 7,000 acres of cotton, peanuts, black-eyed peas, melons, pumpkins, grains, Dorper sheep, and premium wine grapes. We specialize in warm-climate grape varieties that thrive in our region’s arid conditions and high elevation. Our flagship white, Malvasia Bianca, stars in Boyfriend, Farmers Wife, House Wife, Sweet, and Holly Dolly. Our flagship red, Counoise (Tablas Creek clone), is featured in Cultivated and Revolution—and we remain the original and largest commercial producer of the variety in Texas. While we are proud to craft wines under our own label, the highest compliment we receive is vineyard designation from the wineries we grow for—ranging from the state’s largest producers to boutique labels. That’s the true benchmark we aim for: to grow fruit that speaks so clearly of place that it earns its name on the bottle. From responsible grazing practices with Dorper sheep to regenerative cover crops that enrich the soil, we approach everything with a mindset of sustainability and stewardship—ensuring the land is just as fruitful for future generations. Whether you're sipping with us in Johnson City or standing among the vines in Brownfield, we hope you leave with a deeper connection to the land, the labor, and the people behind each pour. Pedernales Cellars Verified Organization

Nestled in the heart of Texas Hill Country and the epicenter of the Texas wine industry, on 145 acres of oak-shaded land, with unparalleled views of the beautiful Pedernales River Valley. Pedernales Cellars began with Larry and Jeanine Kuhlken, who planted their first vineyard near Fredericksburg in the early 1990s. During this time Texas wine pioneers worked experimentally with grape varieties and viticulture practices in order to master winemaking in the Texas terroir. Over time the Kuhlken vineyard started producing consistently high quality fruit with bold, intense flavors. In 2005, Larry and Jeanine’s children, David and Julie began plans for what would become Pedernales Cellars. Grown from the success of Kuhlken Vineyards, they developed the concept for a boutique winery focused on handcrafted, small-lot wines, and working with varietals that thrive in the rugged Texas Hill Country terrain. Pedernales Cellars continues to be a family affair, with David as winemaker and Julie overseeing hospitality, marketing, and design. Their children, the third generation of the family, have apprenticed in all aspects of the vineyard and winery. Pedernales Cellars draws its name from geography and history – the Pedernales River runs through the Texas Hill Country, and “pedernales” means flint in Spanish. The inspiration came when an old flint Indian arrowhead was found in the vineyard and part of an Indian flint stone ax was excavated on the winery site. The serendipity of these two finds connected the vineyard, winery, the region, and its history.

Slate Theory Winery + Vineyards Verified Organization

In 2018, seven siblings and their parents acquired the old Torre di Pietra Winery property in Fredericksburg, Texas, with a vision: to challenge convention and craft wines as layered and complex as the human mind. From that idea, Slate Theory Winery was born. Inspired by philosopher John Locke’s “Blank Slate Theory”, the belief that we are born without preconceptions, the Jones family entered the wine world with no prior experience. It was all in their heads—fueling the brand’s signature motto: Fill Your Head. Today, Slate Theory Winery brings that vision to life in the heart of Texas Wine Country. Guests are invited to explore our immersive tasting experiences, including an underground wine cave, a striking new 8,500-square-foot tasting room, a state-of-the-art production facility, and an exclusive members-only lounge.
