Bell Mountain

Bell Mountain AVA, was established in 1986 as Texas’s first AVA fully within the state.

Known for its rugged terrain and high-elevation vineyards northeast of Fredericksburg. Spanning 3,200 acres at 1,600–2,000 feet, the area’s gravelly, granite-rich soils and wide temperature swings produce concentrated, high-quality wines.

Cool breezes, well-drained soils, and lower disease pressure make it ideal for varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Viognier. The dramatic landscape and distinct climate set it apart within the Texas Hill Country.
