Elisa Christopher Wines is a family run winery by husband and wife team, Elisa and Chris Jones.  Chris and Elisa purchased their 43 acre property in 2022 and hit the ground running on building a production facility and tiny house tasting room.  While Chris and Elisa love still red, and white wine, Chris and Elisa are passionate about making traditional method sparkling wine in Texas.  They’ve invested in champagne equipment from France and for neck freezing, riddling and disgorging and are excited to be pioneers of mechanization to sparkling wine in Texas.  They believe we need more sparkling wine as every day has an element in it to celebrate.

Elisa's family has historic Texas roots having come to Texas in 1855 as farmers, she helped her father plant his vineyard in Burleson Country in 2007.  Although Elisa is a 3rd generation Aggie, she attended Texas Tech's winemaking certificate program while she was still working for the Department of Defense, so that she could move back to Texas after years of travel to make wine.  She convinced her husband Chris to complete his winemaking certificate from Texas Tech during COVID so he could assist her as a “cellar rat.”  As Chris has a full time career as a land planner, his skills were vital in laying out the winery property for future expansion.  If you would have asked him 15 years ago if he would be making wine, he would have said he would have a greater chance of being an astronaut than helping make wine!

White

Zippy, mineral driven with green apple, and lemon zest.

This is the Texas answer to Pinot Noir, suitable growing conditions for this southern French grape. Plum, boysenberry and fig.

Sangiovese Blend

Il Segno is the Italian word for sign - life gives us all kinds of signs and when we had both the Cabernet from Dell Valley Vineyards in Dell City and the Sangiovese from Seminole, Texas we could not wait to blend the two of these together.  Some people would call this a Super Tuscan or Super Texan - we just call it amazing. Just 72 cases made.

Bright cherries, cedar and spice, a New World style Sangiovese that is a perfect lighter bodied red wine. Grown in far West Texas (Gaines County), this wine won a Gold Medal at the San Francisco Chronicle Wine Competition in January 2025.

Brut

Honey coated apple, notes of brioche and hazelnut.  Dosage is 10g/L.

Grown in the foothills of the Guadalupe Mountains, this high elevation Cabernet is stunning. The wine spent 24 months in 60% new French Oak, 40% Neutral Oak giving the wine a deep garnet color, with lighter ruby edges. On the complex nose, you’re greeted with rich hints of cassis, blackberries, nutmeg and cardamom.

Grown in the southern High Plains AVA, this Tannat is smooth and bold.

Merlot Blend

A blend of Merlot, Cabernet and Malbec, all grown in the Texas High Plains at three different vineyard sites. Aromas of dark plum, dark cherry and leather greet you and the mouthfeel is soft tannins, and soft bright finish.

50%Merlot, 50% Malbec, a big, bold wine, 75% New French Oak

Grapefruit, lemon zest and all around remarkable citrus make this the perfect sparkling for Texas!. Blanc du Bois is a hybrid grape picked at high acid making it an excellent candidate for sparkling wine.

This High Plains Malbec is everything you want a Malbec to be, big bold with a smooth finish.

This Grenache is grown in the Texas High Plains and was pressed in the High Plains to preserve the color.  Notes of candied melon, fennel and wild sage.

More of a lighter French style merlot with with raspberry and plum and finishes with silky tannins.
