57% Viognier, 43% Chenin Blanc. This blend of Viognier and Chenin Blanc is sourced from growers in the Hill Country and High Plains. The wines were fermented and aged in stainless steel before bottling. A medium-bodied white with notes of honeysuckle, stone fruit, and a refreshing minerality.
Swim Spot is our "Texas Take" on Vinho Verde. It's light, bright, refreshing, and the perfect addition to a sunny day. The 2024 Swim Spot is made with 100% Blanc Du Bois from Starry Night Farms, owned by James Kasparek. These grapes were hand harvested, whole cluster pressed and fermented and aged in stainless steel. CO2 added right before bottling to give it a slight effervescence.
This is the fourth harvest from Dale and Becky Klein's vineyard in the Hill Country. Planted in 2015, their vineyard has shallow, rocky, limestone derived soils. The fruit was hand harvested at night, destemmed, fermented whole berry with ambient yeasts. Aged 18 months in neutral oak. We recommend decanting. A medium-full bodied red with an earthy complexity and notes of ripe red fruit, spice, and umami.
Sourced from longtime farmer Drew Tallent in the Hickory Sands north of Mason. These tough Cabernet vines managed Winter Storm Uri without any issues, giving us a healthy vine and nice crop for what was one of the coolest years in recent history. While summer was plagued with over 40" of rain and hail, Drew's vineyard lucked out and missed the hailstorms. The Hickory Sandstone is what it sounds like, sandy, and thus drains really well making the abundant rains more of a blessing than a challenge. Combine that with the area's relatively low humidity and Cabernet's naturally small berries and we were into the exceptionally cool Fall weather without any real issues in the vineyard. Harvested in late September at 4am, around 50 degrees outside. Fermented in tank for about a month, then aged in neutral French oak for 16 months. This Cab is medium-full bodied at 14% with red fruits, roasted peppers, salted caramel, vanilla and the iron-like minerality unique to the Hickory Sands. Extremely food friendly and drinkable on its own, think barbecue, grilled meats, and smash burgers. 198 cases produced.
This wine was sourced from Mason, Texas. These densely planted vines are own-rooted in old sandstone soils overlaying granite. The fruit was hand harvested early in the morning, destemmed and fermented whole berry using ambient yeast. The wine was then aged 9 months in concrete.
This Mourvèdre Rosé is sourced from 9-year-old vines at Klein Vineyard Ranch, located in Henly, Texas. The fruit was harvested at night, whole-cluster pressed, fermented and aged in stainless steel. This wine offers a subtle minerality with notes of fresh strawberries and grapefruit.
