Farmhouse VineyardsCowgirl Clairette BlancheA spunky little white grape with deep roots in Southern France, once holding court in places like Châteauneuf-du-Pape, Provence & now Terry County. Her name comes from the Latin clara, meaning “clear,” a nod to her lively pale straw color with clear intentions. Now saddling up in West Texas as "Cowgirl Clairette Blanche," she brings a bouquet of white petals, white peach, and citrus to the nose. She’s sunshine in spurs!
We are farmers, 8 generations combined to be exact. Stewardship is our highest calling.
Celebrating 15 years in the Vineyard and 10 years as a brand. "Clairette Blanche" is a reflection of our past & a promise to the future.
5 years of running Dorper Sheep in the Vineyards & on the Farm. The Ewes & lambs play vital roles, reducing emissions, harnessing the most natural of fertilizer programs + providing protein whose existence was picturesque before harvest. Coupled with precision drip irrigation, they've become an iconic part of ourWest Texaslandscape.
Our efforts towards efficiency, sustainability, and viability are evident in multiple segments
of FHV. Modest houses converted into tasting rooms, homegrown wine club provisions, repurposed and up cycled retail items—all in the name of legacy for our land and it
resources living beyond us.
