Nose

A rich nose of blackberry, plums, violets, and earth.  Meaty, herbal notes and vanilla hints are also present.

Palate

On the palate, this is a big wine with ample tannin structure, medium plus acidity and a full confirmation of the black fruit, red flowers and earthy, peppery spice complexity.

Winemaking

Mourvedre grapes have produced full bodied, high quality wines in both southern France and northeastern Spain for centuries, and the Texas High Plains is proving to be another great growing area for this variety.

Appearance

A deep ruby – purple hue.

Food Pairing

The finish is long and clean, making this a great pairing partner with rich red meats both grilled and braised, robust sauces and savory seasonings.
