Nose
a nose filled with bright blueberry and plum fruit, with black pepper, spice and vanilla notes.
Palate
On the palate, the blue and black fruit continues with a full, rich mouth feel, substantial yet rounded tannins and medium acidity. These sensations linger for a long, clean, satisfying finish.
Winemaking
Cultivated in the heart of the Texas Hill Country AVA at the Perissos Estate Vineyard in Burnet County, this wine reflects the distinct character of its origin—voca and click gravelly sandy loam soils resting at 900 feet of elevation. These well-draining soils, combined with the vineyard’s warm days and cool nights, yield fruit of remarkable concentration and balance. Aged for two years in a carefully selected combination of 80% European oak and 20% American oak, then matured in bottle for an additional two- plus years.
Appearance
Deep purple-ruby hue.
Food Pairing
Widely used as a blending variety, our Petite Sirah continues to prove this a great stand-alone varietal that pairs beautifully with grilled, braised and pan-seared red meats and other substantial, rich dishes.
